The HP Lovecraft Historical Society has launched a special raffle to raise funds for restoration work on the historic Robert E. Howard House in Cross Plains, Texas.

The house—maintained as a museum by the Robert E. Howard Foundation—is in need of ongoing restoration and preservation. Thanks to the generosity of the HPLHS and many friends in the pulp and Lovecraft communities, this raffle offers an extraordinary prize package, with all proceeds benefiting work on the Howard House.

The raffle closes March 15, 2026, and funds will be distributed shortly thereafter.

About the Cause

Robert E. Howard, creator of iconic characters such as Conan, Solomon Kane, and many others, lived and wrote in the Cross Plains house that now serves as a museum dedicated to his life and work. Time has taken its toll on the structure, and restoration efforts are ongoing to preserve this important literary landmark for future generations.

How the Raffle Works

  • Tickets are $2 each — purchase as many as you like.

  • Each ticket enters your invoice number into the drawing.

  • Winners will be drawn on March 15, 2026, the anniversary of H. P. Lovecraft’s passing.

  • Prizes will be shipped worldwide.

There is also an “In Memoriam” Pack, which includes:

  • A facsimile of Lovecraft’s 1936 memorial tribute to Howard

  • 25 raffle tickets automatically entered into the drawing

Participants may purchase individual tickets, the pack, or both.
