The Museum / Project Pride
In the years since Project Pride first bought the house, the members of Project Pride have done a great deal of work to restore and maintain it. As with any old house, of course, maintenance is an ongoing effort.
Any support from REH fans — either through joining Project Pride, or through donations earmarked for the Howard Home — helps with the ongoing efforts to preserve Howard’s memory in his hometown.
Project Pride is a community organization in Cross Plains, Texas, which bought and restored the Robert E. Howard home with financial support from REH fans around the world (and from the late Alla Ray Morris, who had inherited the rights to REH’s works). They now operate the Home as a museum in REH’s memory, and they love the opportunity to show it off for visitors. It is open for set hours during the annual Robert E. Howard Days each year. Other than that, it is shown by appointment only.
The House was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994, and received a Texas Historical Marker in 2019.

Project Pride has the full ownership of the museum and is totally responsible for the upkeep. The organization relies on income from the annual Howard Days (planned by REH Foundation and facilitated locally by Project Pride), a silent auction of Howard related items, memberships (both annual and lifetime). Donations in general are quite common and appreciated.
